Watching Streams
League of Legends Game Guide by MMO Fan
Streams and why they're important.
Streams are players playing live on the net, simple as that. I'm an avid supporter of Own3d.tv, but their biggest competitor is TwitchTV, and most videos can be found through viewers at third party websites such as Solomid.net.
* Funding professional players by watching an hour a day.
Typically, streamers make money by airing ads while playing. A lot of professional players don't have any alternate source of income and devote almost their entire day to playing and improving at League of Legends.
Most of the tournaments don't have that high of a pay out, and multiple teams have told interviewers that they've paid an upwards of twenty thousand dollars just to compete in a tournament and lost first round. Watching these streams keep the E-Sport aspect interesting by allowing these players to improve and change the Meta game as we know it.
* Infinite resources, watching better players play.
Simple fact, watching somebody do something better than you will make you better. When watching these streams, try not to watch them as the marketed E-Sports, but to pick up on the timing, placement and initiative involved in each phase.
