League of Legends Game Guide by MMO Fan
Dominion
- Traits:
* Much like King of the Hill, very similar to Arathi Basin on WoW.
* Matches typically don't go over 25 minutes.
* 5v5 map with two devoted lanes.
* Map based bonuses include;
12% Armor Penetration
5% Magic Penetration
20% Healing Reduction
A mana regeneration bonus
Fixed EXP gain over time
26gp5
Less gold for killing champions
Increased gold for killing minions
Enhanced recall instead of the recall spell
Respawn timers are greatly reduced
* Has a lot of current animations rolling, so poor computers have a hard time playing in this mode of play.
- Map Objectives: Quests, where you'll have one controlled point to be assigned as something you need to protect and an enemy point that you need to take from them. If you fulfill a quest, you sap 20 nexus health and gain 10% bonus damage for a short duration. One new quest appears every 5 minutes.
- Conditions for winning:
* Deplete your enemy's nexus health to 0 through killing their allies and controlling more structures.
- Structures Include:
* 5 Structures around the map, since I don't play this mode often and the specific names aren't on the wiki you'll probably figure it out within the first two runs.
The general strategy is that you send one champion to bottom then the other four towards top, where one will stop at the first point and the other 3 will contest for the top most.
This game isn't based on killing as much as it's based on capturing and holding points. As such, there's a scoring system that supposedly rewards players based on their scores based on activity.
Hold 3 wins the game, keep clearing minion waves because they'll capture a turret extremely quickly if left alone. Get greedy and you might have a chance at winning faster, but you might also screw yourself in the long run. Typically you keep one player bottom the entire time to protect their point and try to take the enemy's bottom lane. The other captured points will typically have one nearby ally protecting and calling approaching enemies.
