The Secret World Dev to Make Lego MMO
By: Jasmine Henry | Jul 6th 2012
Think back to the days of your childhood (or to your current hobbies if you're still a fan) - those tiny little plastic weapons of fun that could make your entire childhood seem like a really entertaining architectural design course or like a time in your life where those specially designed foot-lacerators made shoes and socks mandatory at all times. Now wouldn't that make for a brilliant social video game?
Given that LEGO bricks have provided us all with so much joy over the years, it's fitting that the team behind the new game (who also developed the newly released title, The Secret World) are called funcom. The development team are taking a detour from their usually quite grown-up work to bring the popular kids' plaything to an MMO stage.
Aimed at younger gamers, Funcom CEO Trond Arne Aas says that "The market for family-friendly online experiences intended for children and youngsters is brimming with potential", indicating that the talented dev team is keen to get their hands on a slice of the lucrative financial pie that the younger games demographic has been experiencing lately.
There's no word on whether the LEGO MMO will include joint-brick-building antics but keep visiting MMOFan.com for the latest info on the game as soon as we have it.
