Guild Wars 2 Release Date Announced as August 28th, 2012

After what has seemed like forever and a day of waiting (Guild Wars 2 reports date back to 2007) and delays that very nearly rival Duke Nuken Forever's 'bumpy' developed, the Guild Wars 2 release date has finally been announced.
Originally scheduled for launch many moons ago, developer of the game, NCSoft, have announced that the Guild Wars 2 release date is August 28th, 2012, meaning that you can get your hands on one of the world's most highly anticpated MMORPGs before the Summer is out.
Publisher of Guild Wars 2, ArenaNet also say that a Guild Wars 2 beta weekend is scheduled to take place some time before the official launch with the official statement saying "as they prepare for launch, ArenaNet will focus on polishing Guild Wars 2 to ensure the highest quality experience on launch day, which includes hosting a final Beta Weekend Event 20-22 July 2012".
