Set Your Star Trek Online Universal Translators for New German, French EU Builds
By: Jeff Davis | Mar 29th 2012
Perfect World Entertainment and Cryptic Studios have announced that Star Trek Online will now feature two new linguistics models for European players to set their universal translators on.
In this particular case, German and French players now have the ability to complete missions and space battles in their own native wordplay, including events, game chat, competitions and episodic missions that fit into the ethos of the Star Trek universe. Events within the game will now also be following a pattern that is more accommodating to EU players than in the past.
"The launch of Star Trek Online in Europe is the culmination of our efforts over the past several years to bring gamers the Star Trek universe on a truly massive scale," said Star Trek Online Executive Producer Dan Stahl in anouncing the changes, which also include the free-to-play ethos already in place elsewhere. "We'd like to share this accomplishment with our community of players that have given their ongoing support to help us create an innovative game that captures Star Trek's essence and we are happy to offer a localized experience for our French and German-speaking players. Our team is looking forward to sharing this experience with players in Europe and across the world."
