EVE Online's PS3 Counterpart Dust 514 Set to be Free To Play

Previously stating that they would charge between $10 and $20 for the PS3 match-up of the PC MMO EVE Online, Dust 514, CCP, the developer of both games have now announced that this is not the case and that the game will be completely free to download and play from the PSN.
Speaking to Eurogamer, Brandon Laurino explains saying that the originally proposed cover charge of the game was "a relatively confusing proposition," and in regards to the micro-transaction idea already in place in EVE Online, where you spend real world money on Aurum credits, to in turn purchase extra, in-game goodies, Laurino said "...we probably will still have some kind of pack like that," but luckily for new and veteran EVE Online players alike, he goes on to say that "There is no micro-transaction that you can do that gives you an unfair advantage over someone who hasn't paid anything."
Incredibly handy for keeping accessibility high when Dust 514 launches for PS3 in Spring 2012.
